The first race of the championship, the Generali Solo, ended up last week-end in the Mediterranean island of Porquerolles with a very nice fourth place in the final general ranking for Jean-Pierre Nicol. Tenth in the Marseille - Provence Grand Prix, fifth in the port hop between Marseille and Leucate, fourth in the Leucate Grand Prix and second in the Leucate - Porquerolles stage, the skipper of Bernard Controls has revealed himself to be one of the major forces to be reckoned with in this Generali Solo.

Jean-Pierre and BERNARD CONTROLS are now getting prepared for the next steps. The main race of the season, the Solitaire du Figaro, will leave from Perros-Guirec (Brittany) on 31 July and propose this year four stages between Brittany, Normandy, Ireland and the Vendée. In the meantime, the sailor will play a part in the Tour de France à la Voile, so as to familiarize himself with the locations of the upcoming battles!
